Webinar 2: LAUNCH CO2 Degradation Database – collecting datasets for solvent R&D
Our second webinar introduced the new LAUNCH CO2 Degradation Database, which will share information and analytics on CO2 capture solvent degradation derived from our own solvent testing programme but also from other project solvent-testing campaigns.
The LAUNCH project aims to improve the efficiency and economics of CO2 capture systems to support the growth of a CCUS industry and enable Europe’s energy and industrial sectors to decarbonise.
This event, which included live audience polls, was open to all CCUS stakeholders but, in particular, those who will contribute to and/or use our datasets, such as industry and project developers.
- Introduction & overview, Peter van Os, Project Co-ordinator, TNO
- A review of degradation in post-combustion CO2 capture pilot plants, Hanna Knuutila, NTNU
- The LAUNCH CO2 Degradation Database, Andreas Grimstvedt, SINTEF
- Degradation datasets, Juliana Monteiro & Tanya Srivastava, TNO
- Question & Answer
LAUNCH is an international research project focusing on the development of novel carbon capture solvents for use at scale by industry and as part of efforts to speed the delivery of CCUS worldwide. It is co-funded through the European Union’s ERA-NET ACT2 initiative. www.launchccus.eu
